Dambulla Cave Temple

The Dambulla Cave Temple is a complex of five caves carved into a huge rock outcrop, containing over 150 Buddha statues and ceiling murals that date back more than two thousand years. It's one of the best-preserved cave temple sites in Sri Lanka and pairs naturally with a Sigiriya visit, since the two sites sit close together in the Cultural Triangle.
