Ella & the Hill Country

Ella is a small hill-country town surrounded by tea estates, mist-covered peaks and some of the island's best short hikes. The Nine Arch Bridge — a colonial-era railway viaduct wrapped in jungle — is the most photographed spot, while Little Adam's Peak offers a manageable sunrise climb with panoramic views. Cooler weather here makes it a favorite stop after the heat of the lowlands.
